Welcome to the QMUL Phonetics Lab!
The QMUL Phonetics Laboratory facilitates cutting edge research in phonetics and (laboratory) phonology, involving a diverse and interdisciplinary team of academics, researchers, and students.
The lab was founded in 2016, following major internal funding and investment in phonetics research. We reside in the Department of Linguistics at QMUL, with many of our members and students forming part of the Experimental Research Group. Members of the lab work on diverse topics in phonetics and phonology, including speech production and perception (incl. intonation), and their interfaces with various areas of linguistics such as multi/bilingualism, language acquisition, cognition, and sociolinguistics.
