About the lab

The QMUL Phonetics Laboratory facilitates cutting edge research on speech production and perception, involving a diverse and interdisciplinary team of academics, researchers, and students.

The lab was founded in 2016, following major internal funding and investment in phonetics research. We reside in the Department of Linguistics at QMUL, with many of our members and students forming part of the Experimental Research Group. The group addresses topics deriving from laboratory-based research in speech perception and production and their interfaces with various areas of linguistics such as bilingualism, multilingualism, L1 attrition, L2 acquisition, cognition, and sociolinguistics.

We are a growing group of researchers. Please have a look around and feel free to contact us for more information.
