Facilities

The foundation of the QMUL Phonetics Laboratory is a purpose built soundproof recording studio with an IAC acoustics booth. The lab can be used for the collection of high quality audio and ultrasound data, and provides a quiet space for perception studies.

For speech recording and audio perception we have a range of neutral microphones, monitors and AD/DA converters from Neumann, AKG, RME, and Beyer-dynamic.

For ultrasound data collection we have the imaging system from Articulate Instruments, with probes suitable for recording both children and adults. We also work closely with the Language Acquisition Lab on collaborative EEG research.
